Juicy J is a man of many talents, but you might not know that the rapper knows a thing or two about drawing. It's a bit of an unknown talent of his that he used to practice when he was younger, so it goes without saying that we wanted to see how the Three 6 Mafia OG would fare when it came down to an easel and paintbrush. While making the rounds to promote "Neighbors," his recent Travis Scott collab, the hip-hop titan took to iHeartRadio and sat down with for the latest installment of "Wine and Paint Night" to chat about the latest single, an upcoming collab with Lil Skies and Kevin Gates and what he sees in the younger rappers of today.
"He was working on Astroworld. He called me to the studio. He's like, 'Yo, man. Can you pull up? I wanna hear some of your beats,'" he recalled of the studio time in the interview with our very own Ellie Lee. "Travis Scott is super talented. He was just smoking weed. I'd play a beat and he'd be like 'Alright' and tell his engineer to load it up on the ProTools and he would drop a verse. He was doing that for two hours."
On his way out of the studio, Juicy asked Scott if he could get a record for his album and that's where the instrumental to "Neighbors" came into the picture. "The song was pretty much done. It sounded like a long verse," he continued. "I took it to the studio, chopped it up, put a chorus here and put his verse there. I added a second verse and that's how the song came." The rapper explained that he was thinking of laying down a third verse, but the short duration of the cut made him want to play it again and he enjoyed that listening tactic.
